About me
Dr. Rebecca Gunnlaugsson serves as chief of staff and chief operating officer for the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). Her role centers on helping the agency translate strategic priorities into coordinated action by aligning people, systems, and resources. Through this cross-functional work, SCDE is strengthening execution, removing barriers, and building the organizational capacity needed to better serve South Carolina’s districts, schools, educators, students, and families.
