About me
Ellen Weaver, who was elected in November 2022, serves as South Carolina’s 19th State Superintendent of Education. Superintendent Weaver believes that every child has a unique purpose and can meet high expectations when adults provide high-quality, evidence-aligned support. She and her team work to relentlessly structure the South Carolina Department of Education’s mission, resources, communications, and daily work around this core conviction.
