About me
Dr. Derrick D. Jordan is associate state superintendent/chief operating officer for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, leading the agency’s work in educator preparation, licensure, performance, and other key areas. With an expansive career spanning roles from teacher to school district superintendent, he was named Piedmont-Triad Regional Superintendent of the Year in 2018 and has served as president of the North Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He holds degrees from North Carolina Central University; East Carolina University; and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also serves as a clinical associate professor in the School of Education.
