About me
Danielle Ongart serves as assistant commissioner of the Student Pathways and Engagement Unit at the Colorado Department of Education, where she leads efforts focused on whole-child, whole-family, and whole-community supports to help students succeed in school and beyond. Her unit oversees more than 30 state and federal grant programs across postsecondary and workforce readiness, health and wellness, wraparound supports, dropout prevention and student re-engagement, and adult education. Danielle brings deep state and federal education policy experience, including prior service at the U.S. Department of Education, as well as experience as a middle school teacher in New York City and in developing the Denver Public Schools’ Leading Effective Academic Practice (LEAP) teacher evaluation system.
